A great design is only one of the keys to a great 3D Print - you need high quality materials and process know-how to get the best parts every time! At Green Fox 3D, we have evaluated MANY different brands of filament, and have found some great (and terrible!) materials along the way. Most filament is made in China, and then has to be transported half way around the world to get to us in London, ON.
Today, we are excited to announce that we are switching all our basic/solid colour filaments to a North American producer - VOXELPLA, based in Southern California! VOXELPLA provides a high quality filament that is perfect for just about every application. It is a high performance, high strength material that is designed for high speed printing. We have used multiple colours on both our Prusa and Ender printers over the past 4 months and will be converting all our colours in the coming weeks.
One of the main advantages of VOXELPLA is the ease of printing and consistency across colours. This material is perfect for high speed applications (up to 500mm/sec) without sacrificing print quality or strength. It prints at typical PLA temperatures, in a fraction of the time.
VOXELPLA offers both a PLA+ (pro) and PETG+ (pro) material. In addition to switching over our production, Green Fox 3D will be a Canada-based reseller of both materials! Local pickup will be available in London, ON, with shipping Canada-wide.
Filament is heavy (it is sold in 1kg rolls), so we are working on options to reduce shipping costs, exploring options with Canada Post, Sendle, UPS, etc. There are currently 20 colours of PLA+ (pro) and 10 colours of PETG+ (pro) available. We maintain limited stock at our London, ON headquarters, and can source all colours in 5-7 business days.
